Evergreens Win Again, Extend Streak to 10
The Portland Evergreens picked up a win at Evergreen Park, knocking off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 3-2. Starting pitcher Gerald Keller was an essential part of his team's success. Keller, now 6-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Shinzo Kumagai earned the save for Portland, his 8th of the year.

The Evergreens got a lift from right fielder Chris Payling who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the seventh inning off Roberto Cavazos. It was his 37th RBI of the season and put Portland in front, 3-2.

"This team is real focused right now," said Portland manager Imran Baig.

The winning continues for Portland, with the latest making it 10 straight.
