Almost There: Phoenix On Cusp of R2031 Triumph After 4-2 Win
|
The Phoenix Hotspur are one game away from a sweep after a 4-2 win over the visiting Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Chase Field today. Hotspur right-hander Miguel Rubia was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball. Phoenix now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2031.
The Rainbow Mermaids had trouble solving Rubia, who surrendered 2 earned runs on 7 hits over 8.1 innings.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Rubia told reporters after the game.
Game 3 is set to be played Thursday, October 10th, 2030 at Atlantica in Hampton. Slated to start are Alejandro Guerra for the Phoenix Hotspur and Guldemunde Geilinger for the the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.
