Despite a great performance by Philadelphia 1776 starter Elroy Thompkins, the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the BC by the score of 3-1 at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum today. Thompkins threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Northern Lions BC from moving one game closer to the Round 2032. Thunder Bay now leads the Round 2031 - .

Thunder Bay first baseman Gilberto Jiménez helped the Northern Lions BC go up, 1-0, in the top of the fifth inning. With the game tied, Jiménez hit a solo home run off Philadelphia 1776 pitcher Elroy Thompkins.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Jiménez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
