Schiff, South Beach Start PL A Championship Strong with Home Win
The South Beach Blaze started the PL A Championship in style today, downing the visiting Washington Generals at The Ballpark on the Beach by a score of 4-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Blaze shortstop Greg Schiff was named player of the game after he went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.

Schiff had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run single. The Blaze went on to win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Schiff told reporters after the game.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Ballpark on the Beach. The scheduled starters for the game are Phillip Donoghue for the Washington Generals and Aaron Briggs for the the South Beach Blaze.
