The Thunder Bay starter rose to the occasion at Atlantica today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Northern Lions BC to a crucial 6-3 victory over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. López threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball as the Northern Lions BC won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

The Northern Lions BC beat the Rainbow Mermaids in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Terumoto Kurihara produced in the top of the first. Batting against Northern Virginia pitcher Guldemunde Geilinger, Kurihara gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run double.

"It feels good to get this one," López told the Thunder Bay Herald.
