Athletic Club KC catcher Matt Herman was the key at The Thunder Dome today, being named player of the game as he powered the Athletic Club KC to victory in a critical Game of the Silver League Championship. The Athletic Club KC took the 5-4 win over the Richardson City Thundercats to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Jesús Vargas, who is tied for 5th in the SL in stolen bases with 12, aided the Athletic Club KC cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Vargas told a Athletic Club KC Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
