Host Thundercats Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
The New Amsterdam Dutchmen moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Richardson City Thundercats on the road at The Thunder Dome by a score of 5-3. Dutchmen left-hander Walt Coffman was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Dutchmen a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Tied up with the Thundercats in the top of the fifth inning, the Dutchmen got a boost from shortstop Hank Wilder. With a runner on 1st, Wilder saw a 2-2 cutter from Wayne Craig and hit a run-scoring triple to break the stalemate and put New Amsterdam on top, 4-3.

"Winning is contagious," said Coffman. "We're looking forward to the next game."
