Pivotal Game Goes to Host Legion, 3-1
|
The Kingston Township Legion moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting D.C. Divided at Cloverdale Legion Park by a score of 3-1. Legion right-hander Jon Briddon was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Legion a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
José Icaza, who is rated as the 7th best prospect by BNN, aided the Kingston Township cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It feels good to get that win," said Icaza. "Now it's on to the next one."
