Still Kicking: Chicago Cut Seattle Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Chicago Gold Sox started the Round 1 in dramatic fashion today, stealing Game 1 from the Seattle Aviators in a walk-off in the 12th inning. Chicago took the 2-1 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Javier Dávila. The right-hander threw 9 innings of shutout ball in the win, which gave the Gold Sox a - lead to start the best-of- series.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Chicago left fielder Zeus Preckwinkle, facing Holden Rosen Grupp, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Gold Sox the 2-1 win.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Dávila.
