Behind a solid performance from third baseman Mitsuhide Bando, the Yellowknife Dragonblood defeated the South Beach Blaze, 8-3. Bando went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Dragonblood. Shusaku Kobayashi, credited with the save, is now 11 for 12 in save opportunities. Yellowknife is now 50-43.

The Dragonblood got a big at-bat from designated hitter Gonzalo Vásquez. For the game, Vásquez went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Yellowknife a 5-3 lead.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Vásquez said.
