Chukars Fall to .500 After Loss to Walleye
|
Walla Walla Walleye starter Peer Akerboom was in fine form against the Idaho Falls Chukars at Idaho Falls Park, leading his team to a 6-4 win. Walla Walla reliever Tom Warrawong got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Stephen Knight was tagged with the loss. The Walleye improved to 48-44.
Portland, Oregon-born Jimmy Fick came through in the clutch. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Walleye trailing 4-2, he hit a bases-clearing triple to center to put Walla Walla on top.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Fick.
