Both teams had their chances, but the Chicago Tula eventually prevailed at Washington Park.

The Tula faced a stiff challenge from Washington pitcher Phillip Donoghue, but persevered to claim a win at Washington Park. The final score was 4-3. Donoghue went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Jeff Enamorado picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Randy Gabaldon was tagged with the loss. Cedric Zuercher notched his 16th save in 19 chances.

Manuel 聲gel made it 4-3 in favor of Chicago when he delivered a 2-run double. It came with one out in the top of the ninth. The Tula went on to win.

"We take it day by day here," said 聲gel, "and today was a good one for us."
