Red-Hot Brannon Scorches Generals
Michael Brannon of the River Rats was unstoppable in today's 5-4 victory over the Washington Generals at Washington Park. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.

"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Columbia third baseman after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will."

Michael Brannon singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.

This year Brannon has hit at a .279 clip with 28 RBIs, 8 home runs and 18 runs scored.
