Walleye Get Close Win Over Hotspur U-21
|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 got a superb performance from pitcher Jason MacDonald, but the Walla Walla Walleye still won the game, 4-3. MacDonald was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Walla Walla is now 33-31, Phoenix 22-42.
José de la Cavallería had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth for the Walleye. Coming up with runners on 1st and 3rd and Walla Walla trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run triple.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Phoenix skipper Juan Sánchez.
