Evergreens Rally For Late Win Over Lakers
|
A 4-RBI performance from third baseman Ty Struck, who is tied for 4th in the SL in RBI with 11, led the Portland Evergreens to a 8-5 win over the Echo Park Lakers. Portland reliever Gene Kirkland was the winner. His record is now 3-0. Júlio Rodríguez took the loss. The win gives the Evergreens a record of 7-7.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Struck hit a fastball from Júlio Rodríguez for a 3-run home run. The Evergreens, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Struck said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
