Red-Hot Sarkar Scorches Fur Traders
|
Syed Sarkar was on fire today against the Tacoma Fur Traders but it was all in vain as Sarkar's Continentals fell 12-4. For the game, the first baseman went 5-for-5 against Tacoma in a fine hitting display.
"I got the pitches I was looking for and I connected," he said. "Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody and some days they fall in."
Syed Sarkar singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This year Sarkar has collected a .276 batting average to date with 70 hits in 254 at-bats, 25 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 33 times. He has played in 62 games.
