Continentals Jolt Highlanders with Late Rally
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Holden Nolan, the Chesapeake Continentals defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 9-7. Nolan was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Continentals. Mat Tengku, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save. With the win over Asheville, the Continentals improved to 30-28.
Chesapeake took a 9-7 lead on Micheal Lovell's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Asheville pitcher Elend Venture in the bottom of the eighth.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Nolan said after the game.
