Chesapeake starter Pang Qin pitched effectively against the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. The right-hander led his team to a 7-2 win. The winning pitcher was Qin, now 4-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Chesapeake, at 20-16, occupies third place in the Premier AA.
Yoshihiro Iwasaki, who is rated as the 6th best prospect by BNN, aided the Chesapeake cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-2 with 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Qin said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
