Bailey Helps Continentals Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Chesapeake Continentals bested the Tacoma Fur Traders by a score of 9-5, with second baseman Bartholomew Bailey getting the main credit. On the day, Bailey was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Continentals. Fabian Thul picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. John Hottinger was tagged with the loss. Chesapeake, now 9-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Chesapeake grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Bailey hit a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Continentals out in front, 9-5.
"Enjoyed this one," Bailey told the Chesapeake Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
