Herons Get Close Win Over Deuces
The Glendale Herons picked up a win at Heron Field, knocking off the Virginia Beach Deuces, 8-4. Starting pitcher Edmund Blackadder was an essential part of his team's success. The win was Juan Sánchez's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Edgar Capello took the loss for Virginia Beach. The Herons now have a mark of 46-29.

Brett Robinson was the walk-off hero for Glendale. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Herons designated hitter hit a dramatic grand slam home run to send the teams home.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Blackadder said.
