Grasshoppers Edge Past Polar Bears, 7-6
Despite a great performance by Billings left fielder José Cruz, the San Bernardino Grasshoppers defeated the Polar Bears by the score of 7-6 at Field of the Grasshoppers. Cruz went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. San Bernardino reliever Dane Bramble picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ramón García absorbed the loss. The Grasshoppers now own a record of 30-38.

Luis Yander La O found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Billings hurler Ramón García, the 19-year-old second baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 2nd walk of the season put the Grasshoppers on top, 7-6.

Yander La O called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
