Glendale turned a good effort from starter Hikaru Yamaguchi into a win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Heron Field. The final score was 4-2. Juan Sánchez picked up the save, his 21st. The Herons now own a record of 38-24.

Francisco Guerra had a big bases-clearing triple for the Herons in the bottom of the second inning. With Glendale leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Min-chin Kim and stroked the triple to right. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Herons ahead, 4-0.

"I just love going out and having a big game," Yamaguchi said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
