Piranhas Prevail, 3-1, Over Northern Virginia
|
Panama City Piranhas starter Edison Larson turned in a top-notch performance against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Atlantica. The result was a win for the Piranhas, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Larson, now 5-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Ming-jiang Wu notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Tommy Jones, who is tied for 4th in the PL in triples with 4, helped out the Panama City cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-5.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Larson told the Panama City Herald.
The Piranhas have an impressive 49-26 record.
