Multi-HR Game for López in 8-5 Win
|
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers topped the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks by the score of 8-5, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman José López. López was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Grasshoppers. The win brings the Grasshoppers to 4-9, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
López had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Greyfriars Bobby, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Grasshoppers a 8-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for López.
"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said San Bernardino skipper Manny Cuellar.
