Benedict Patel put on a hitting clinic today as the Bloomington Longnecks dumped the Alloway Halberds 17-5 at Ballpark of Alloway.

The Bloomington right fielder made Alloway defenders earn their pay, lashing Alloway pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Patel said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Benedict Patel grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Gilberto Ramírez in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
