Disaster Get One-Run Win at Vermont
|
The Port Royal Disaster faced a tough opponent in Vermont pitcher Gerry Fleck, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Monster Field by a final score of 3-2. Fleck went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Port Royal occupies 7th place in the Silver AAA at 43-45.
The Disaster got a lift from pinch hitter David McJannett who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning off Joe Kehoe. It was his 7th RBI of the season and put Port Royal in front, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said McJannett after the game.
