Thrilling Victory Pushes Longnecks Win Streak to 5
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Luis Freitas, the Vermont Lake Monsters suffered a 5-3 loss to the Bloomington Longnecks. Freitas went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. The save went to Keith Rojas, his 14th this season. The Longnecks improved to a lofty 27-5.
Martín Martínez made it 5-3 in favor of Bloomington when he delivered a 2-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the tenth. The Longnecks went on to win.
"I felt good up there," said Martínez. "I saw the ball well."
