Drummers Get Close Win Over Doubledays
Despite a great performance by Tremont left fielder Otis Brewer, the Tortolita Drummers defeated the Doubledays by the score of 5-3 at Drummers Ballpark. Brewer was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tortolita reliever Rex Hood picked up the win to move to 2-0. Vinny Mariani suffered the loss. Tortolita, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Jeb Sexton went 1 for 3 for Tortolita. The 24-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Vinny Mariani. It was his 4th RBI of the season.

"This team is real focused right now," said Tortolita manager Arturo Chávez.
