Adams Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Northern Virginia in Walk-Off Win
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a superb performance from pitcher John Dempsey, but the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids still won the game, 6-5. Dempsey was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Northern Virginia reliever David Hudson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. José Larranaga was saddled with the loss. The winning continues for Northern Virginia, with the latest making it 7 straight.

The Rainbow Mermaids beat the Grey Wolves in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Ed Adams produced in the bottom of the tenth. Batting against Vancouver pitcher José Larranaga, Adams gave his team a 6-5 lead when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single.

"I like our mindset right now," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister.
