Late Rally by Shooters Secures Win
Fans of the Springfield Shooters who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Springfield win over the visiting Lancaster Farmers, 9-8. Pierre Levegh started for the home team against Marnix van Rijn. César Gómes earned the coveted player of the game honors.

The Shooters were down to their final out when catcher Roberto Alonzo turned a 1-0 fastball from Tim Sandaele into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Springfield Stadium crowd go wild.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Alonzo said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
