Mermen, Hannila Blank Continentals Tuesday, July 10th, 2029 The Myrtle Beach Mermen rolled to an easy 5-0 win over the Chesapeake Continentals at Chesapeake Grounds today. Leading the way to victory was starter Risto Hannila, who shackled the Chesapeake Continentals and held them scoreless on a 5-hitter. "This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Hannila said in his postgame press conference. So far this year Hannila has made 13 starts, tossed 85.2 innings, struck out 64 batters and walked 30. His record is 3-7 with a 3.68 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .263 batting average.
