3 Bombs for Ramón Morterero Friday, August 17th, 2029 Ramón Morterero showed off his power today as he launched three balls into the seats against the Atlantic City Sonics and sparked the Athletic Club KC Academy to a 10-2 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he told reporters in the postgame interview. "I have always liked to hit at KC Academy Field." For the day, Morterero collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs. "He was instant offense today," Athletic Club KC Academy skipper Brendan Andrews said. "Ramón really put on a show." Ramón Morterero grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Lincoln Spooner in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Lincoln Spooner in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Rob Smith in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. Morterero is hitting .284 so far this season with 32 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 74 hits including 8 home runs, 30 walks and .364 OBP. |
