No Hits for Morín, Streak Ends at 20
Saturday, August 11th, 2029
Ft. Polk South shortstop José Morín came into today's game against the Atlantic City Sonics on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Sonics did their jobs well, beating the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks 15-0 and holding Morín hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old shortstop had a few words to say finishing 0-for-3, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What José did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Thunder Hawks manager Howard Martínez. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

This year Morín has collected a .290 batting average to date with 96 hits in 331 at-bats, 59 RBIs, 15 home runs and scored 55 times. He has played in 77 games.
