Ruíz and Zambaco Brawl, League Suspends Them Thursday, August 23rd, 2029 After an intense confrontation, both the Pandas José Ruíz and the 1837 BBC Alexis Zambaco were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Montana-Houston game. Both players will miss 10 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," José Ruíz commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Ruíz is hitting .276 this year with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .336, 27 walks and scored 49 times. So far this year Zambaco has made 17 starts, tossed 105.2 innings, struck out 66 batters and walked 31. His record is 6-2 with a 3.41 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .231 batting average. |
