Zambrano Rips Mt. Vernon for 5 Hits
|
Sepulveda Zambrano put on a hitting clinic today as the South Beach Blaze dumped the Mt. Vernon Bulls 8-0 at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon.
The South Beach catcher made Mt. Vernon defenders earn their pay, lashing Mt. Vernon pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Zambrano said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Sepulveda Zambrano hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Zambrano is hitting .328 this year with 7 home runs and 29 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .372, 14 walks and scored 28 times.
