The Bellevue Bruins and Niagara Falls Expos brought some excitement to Bellevue Field.

Benefiting from Bogumil Tiwontschik's productive game, the Niagara Falls Expos downed the Bellevue Bruins, 10-1. Tiwontschik went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Expos. Washington Scarpenti got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Bruins to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 3.

A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the first inning when the Expos sent teenager Jaime Moya to the plate against Bruins hurler Kewiki Pua. With the bases loaded and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 0-1 fastball to score 2.
