Tight Tilt Goes to Dragoons, 2-1
|
The Louisiana Dragoons picked up a win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Connetquot Chiefs, 2-1. Starting pitcher Katsumoto Miyanohara was an essential part of his team's success. Miyanohara, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. The save went to Ron Pomar, his 6th this season.
Louisiana grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Mike Houston delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 1-0 in favor of the Dragoons.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Louisiana manager Justin Trewhells.
Louisiana is now 20-26, Connetquot 16-30.
