The Houston BC beat the Plymouth Rocks, 4-3, at Plymouth Quarry. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Alfonso Bocanegra, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs. Even with the win, the BC have a dismal 27-55 record.
Bocanegra had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 fastball from Roberto Aguirre, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the BC a 4-3 lead. It was the 42nd hit of the year for Bocanegra.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bocanegra said.
