Hrnjak Rips Bakersfield for 5 Hits
|
Rudko Hrnjak put on a hitting clinic today as the Jersey City Tritons dumped the Bakersfield Nobles 10-8 at Jerome Grounds.
The Jersey City center fielder made Bakersfield defenders earn their pay, lashing Bakersfield pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Hrnjak said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Rudko Hrnjak singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th and hit a two-run single in the 11th.
Hrnjak is hitting .303 so far this season with 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 23 hits including 1 home run, 13 walks and .396 OBP.
