Casper and Springfield duked it out at Springfield Stadium and the Ghosts came out victorious.
Getting a good performance from center fielder Jorge Díaz, the Casper Ghosts defeated the Springfield Shooters, 5-4. Díaz went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Ghosts. The win was Ray Neely's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Fred Pitts took the loss for Springfield.
The most important at-bat for Casper came in the top of the ninth inning, when shortstop José Córdova stroked a 2-0 cutter to center for a run-scoring single, putting Casper up, 5-4.
"Enjoyed this one," Córdova told the Casper Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Casper is now 35-35, Springfield 36-34.
