Polar Bears Prevail, 4-3, Over Bethesda
|
The Billings Polar Bears and Bethesda Atoms played an exciting game at Atoms Field.
The Billings Polar Bears overcame a good performance by Bethesda right fielder Jorge Cortéz to knock off Bethesda, 4-3, at Atoms Field. Cortéz went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Shigeko Sakoda got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. Raúl Flores closed the door for Billings, picking up his 1st save of the year.
José Palácios aided the Billings cause with a 2-run single in the top of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
In postgame remarks, Palácios said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
