The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Scranton Supernovas by the score of 8-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Barkley B. Cooltimes. Cooltimes was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs for the Lake Monsters on the day. Vermont reliever Gerry Fleck picked up the win to move to 1-0. Goodluck Obasanjo suffered the loss. The Lake Monsters' win now puts them at 51-44.

Cooltimes had a key at-bat for Vermont early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was his 69th hit of the season and gave Vermont an early 2-0 lead.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Cooltimes.
