Supernovas Win at Alloway, 4-1
|
Scranton Supernovas starter Will Hoffman turned in a top-notch performance against the Alloway Halberds at Ballpark of Alloway. The result was a win for the Supernovas, 4-1. Jeff Schneider got the save, his 12th in 14 chances. Scranton occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA at 45-43.
The Supernovas got a big at-bat from left fielder Martín Álvarez. For the game, Álvarez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Scranton a 2-0 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Hoffman told the Scranton Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
