Drummers Come Back Late to Top Lake Monsters
Vermont catcher Barry Dempsey had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-3, to Tortolita at Drummers Ballpark. Dempsey was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dave Seals got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Briggs Bourgeois closed it out for his 26th save.

Tortolita grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jim Burch delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Drummers.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Burch, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
