Disaster Come Up Short at Calgary
|
The Calgary Lynx eked out a 6-5 win versus the Port Royal Disaster at Lynx Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Ray Skipworth, who captured player of the game honors. Skipworth picked up the win for Calgary, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Alfonso Vera, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Also making an impact was catcher Tony Farquharson, who drilled a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Lynx. For the game, Farquharson was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Skipworth.
Calgary leads the Silver AAA by 3 games.
