Álvarez Hits 2 home runs in Supernovas Win
The Scranton Supernovas powered past the Port Royal Disaster, 10-7, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Martín Álvarez belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Scranton reliever Rob Smith picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Dennis Brown was collared with the loss. Bernardo Valdés closed the door for Scranton, picking up his 1st save of the year.

In the top of the first inning, first baseman Eddie Sachs came through big-time for the Supernovas. With Scranton leading 1-0, he belted a 3-run home run.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Sachs.
