Blue Sox Go Down to Defeat, 9-5
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders bested the Irving Blue Sox, 9-5, at Ballpark of Tacoma. David Tineo was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Dorian Roberts, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 2-7. Tacoma is now 22-27, while Irving is 23-26.
Tacoma grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Luis Flores delivered a 2-run single, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Fur Traders.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Tacoma manager David Márquez.
