|
Yakima starter Brian Walker pitched effectively against the Glendale Herons at Hops Park. The right-hander led his team to a 5-4 win. Picking up the save was Pieter Spitsbaard, his 2nd. The win lifts Yakima to a record of 3-2.
Mario Salazar drove in one run for Yakima. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pancho Mastache. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Yakima manager Craig Walters.
