Nazario Goes Wild, But Dodos Win
|
The Sunset District Fog got a superb performance from first baseman Alfonso Nazario. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hialeah. The Dodos won the game, 13-7. In spite of the loss, Nazario was named the player of the game. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Matt Digby earned the win for Hialeah. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 3-1. Hialeah now sits at 21-24, while Sunset District falls to 22-23.
Scott Janousek, who leads the 3AAA with a .478 on-base percentage, aided the Hialeah cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 3 with 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Raúl Méndez said.
