Marino Rips New Amsterdam for 5 Hits
|
1837 BBC third baseman Rubén Marino had his way with New Amsterdam pitching today at Dutch Master Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Dutchmen ruined his great day by toppling the 1837 BBC, 6-5.
"I had a great day, but you've got to give New Amsterdam credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits."
"Oh, we noticed what Marino did today," Dutchmen skipper Sal Gaudio said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Rubén Marino singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 11th and doubled in the 13th.
In 8 games Marino is hitting .294 this season with 10 hits, no home runs, 1 RBIs, no walks, .314 OBP and has scored 4 runs.
